Welcome to the 414 Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving back to the firefighting community and beyond. Funded through the support of Firehouse Shirt Club, the 414 Fund provides financial contributions to the fire stations featured each month while also supporting scholarships for aspiring firefighters and other charitable initiatives. Our mission is to honor and uplift the firefighters and first responders who serve our communities, fostering opportunities and providing resources that make a meaningful difference. Together, we’re building a legacy of support and gratitude for those who protect and inspire us.
The name "414 Fund" holds deep significance, honoring the 414 first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice during the tragic events of 9/11. Their courage and selflessness embody the spirit of service that drives our mission. Through the 414 Fund, we pay tribute to their legacy by supporting fire stations, providing scholarships for aspiring firefighters, and contributing to causes that uplift the firefighting community and beyond. Their sacrifice inspires us to give back and ensure their heroism is never forgotten.
As a sister company to Firehouse Shirt Club, the 414 Fund is run by three experienced volunteers.
Jim Scano
Our founder and the founder of Firehouse Shirt Club, Jim Scano, brings with him years of leadership and experience in both the for-profit and non-profit communities. As a former Dallas and McKinney, Texas firefighter/paramedic, Jim's firsthand knowledge of firefighters' and first responders' needs, along with his business success, provides our organization with direction and guidance. Jim currently serves several roles in his community, such as a board member of the Gunter ISD School Board, 2024 Vice-Chairman and 2025 Chairman of the Celina Chamber of Commerce, founder of the Local Celina Business Alliance, and currently working on the steering committee for Leadership Celina, a local organization dedicated to fostering community leaders.
Eric Daniels
Erid (Ed) Daniels is a firefighter/paramedic and currently a driver/operator with the McKinney Fire Department in McKinney, Texas, where he has worked since 2008. In addition to Eric's work at McKinney, Eric also gives back to the local community through his service with the award-winning McTown Klownz, where he's served since 2011. Between his work as a firefighter, creative director at Firehouse Shirt Club, and being a loving husband and father of three daughters, Eric finds time to help the 414 Fund accomplish its mission to serve the fire community.
Andy "Hop" Hopkins
Andy Hopkins is a 12-year resident of Celina, Texas, the fastest-growing city in the country.
